At present, the interest of companies in building sustainable strategies is growing. However, companies have a different approach to strategy and use a variety of solutions, most of which include current trends. The aim of the paper is to identify current trends in the field of business sustainability and to find out what impact the implementation of popular trends has on consumers.

The smart city is a concept of strategic management of the city and there is a synergy between the various activities and public services that make the city work. Through this activity, they increase the quality of life of their citizens. The result of the article is to find out and verify the current state of Slovak municipalities and cities in terms of the level of smart cities. The greatest emphasis is placed on weaknesses, shortcomings, and problematic aspects that they encounter in the management of a municipality or city.

Volumes of distributed postal items are changing in time. While in the past people preferred communication via letters, nowadays social networks take upon themselves provision of this service. Thus, letters decrease in amount, whereas parcels and express postal items increase in the numbers. Predictions about how those volumes shall look like in the years 2021-2023 are interpreted in the following paper.

For employee selection there are loads of methods could be used in making decision process by a HR manager. To demonstrate one of many methods in making decision process we chose AHP method. We integrated this method into first and second employee selection. First, we define recruitment process so as to know where we can implement AHP method into employee selection and beyond, raising the questions that we must define some appropriate criteria and determine local and global weights.
