BEZPEČNOSTNÉ ASPEKTY VYUŽÍVANIA INSTANT MESSAGINGU V AKADEMICKOM PROSTREDÍ

In recent years, instant messaging (IM) has become an important communication tool in academic settings. Universities, students, and faculty use it to share information, collaborate, and coordinate educational activities. This paper focuses on a secondary analysis of academic sources to assess the benefits, risks, and security issues associated with students' use of instant messaging technology. Based on an analysis of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, major threats such as social engineering, phishing, and insufficient encryption, along with the security level of each IM platform, are identified. At the same time, specific measures are proposed to enhance communication security in academic environments
